- radia_s24_n298 - The Worm Radio Song Poem Radia Show (RadioWORM 2010-12-13)

This show consists of a number of songs that were made by the Radio WORM Song Poem Crew at the STRP Festival in Eindhoven (november 2010). The theme was '80ties cassette culture' and the idea was that the audience could choose a genre from a menu, write a text, pay 3 euro's, and then the Radio WORM Song Poem Crew would make the song with ‘original' 80ties gear (the most advanced device being a 4track cassette machine), hence the ‘vintage' sound qualities of the pieces. The song was delivered within a short time (5 - 30 minutes) to the client on cassette tape.

- radia_s06_n050 - The adventures of Khaosz Kapitany (Tilos Radio 2006-03-13)

This part is a sample from their special "Menza Brothers - Dadaist Culture Revue" - live instruments, with record manipulation and effects - and two voices reading-yelling found texts - with Khaosz Kapitany at the controls. Beware... mostly in Hungarian. OK, basically, it takes you through the purgatory, and .... let's see what happens at the end.

The perfect timing for shell hunting is immediately before and after low tide. At this timing, clandestine shell hunters suddenly come from the dunes and cross the low waters on foot. The small boats are stranded in the sand gently moving with the wind and soft south currents. The shell workers are now not only fisherman or related, but also people that have other activities or jobs, even lawyers, and they spend hours on the water to get 3 to 8 kg of clams to make a living. This collected field-recordings from and near the sand banks are edited and overlap different places where the shell hunting persists as a clandestine way of life.

- radia_s39_n651 - Austrian Angst (Orange 94.0 2017-09-12)

The German language differentiates between fear (Furcht) and Angst (Angst). Furcht is clearly directed, rooted in our consciences. We know what we are afraid of, can name it, sometimes, we don't dare to express it but it is not labeled with a shattering uncertainty. The Austrian Angst is like the misty evening. Fog between the lines of conscience reception and anticipation. Blurring boundaries. We embody the present, we cannot flee escape from the present. The present is present. We cannot estimate the risks and vulnerability of the threat. We fight, freeze, focus, or flee based on the essence of our temper but between the foggy lines of this present a thought turns into a tree with little shiny fruits of terror.

- radia_s39_n661 - Dirar_Kalash (2017-11-20)

Dirar Kalash is a musician and sound artist whose work spans a wide range of musical and sonic practices within a variety of compositional and improvisational contexts. His performative and compositional approaches to instruments, techniques, and aesthetics are highly political as they challenge dichotomies, hierarchies, and binary logics of new/old and west/east as tools of cultural imperialism and hegemony. The methods he uses are based upon his research into the intersections and relationships of music and sound with other contexts such as language, architecture, mathematics, visual arts and further social and human sciences. His regular solo and collaborative performances include but are not limited to audio-visual performances, free jazz groups, string ensembles, solo piano, and live electronics.

- radia_s05_n044 - Essays on Radio (can I have two minutes of your time?) (Rádio Zero 2006-01-30)

In the midst of media saturation, radio can easily end by being an overlooked medium, not only due to its lower visibility compared to most mainstream media but mostly because it is an un-visual medium. It is also one of the longer standing and of the oldest electronic media that is still alive, so the novelty factor is not a help. Radio was the first broadcast medium, as well as the first that was sound-specific and intangible. Historically, radio was the primary responsible for an awareness of sound that went beyond the strict scope of music. Radio is a saturated live medium, where much happens simultaneously.

Christophe Modica is a photographer, filmmaker and sound artist. He made a piece ignoring the borders between countries, treating as equals language and sound, music and voice, as a water sound doesn't need a translation. There is no secret "Histoire d'eau" is a work on water. Water feeds, washes, it can lack or overflow. Drought kills, so does a tidal wave. With the current, from ebb to flow, through health, hydration, struggle and waste, life is in a floating balance.

What kind of space is build by mixed references and what story can be build with them? This lie that I bring you is a deception on senses. Like hidden small children hitting keys on a loose keyboard behind a curtain in front of an intelectual assistance. Well, what kind of "great art" do they perceive? Another way to put it is to go to a party and jump around conversations. Call it collage, call it pastiche but also composing and directing. It's all about this: cut this bit here and join it there and present it through this very small door opening. What does it mean? The answer is, off course, between each pair of ears.

Kittler. The audio comprises a) a nine second cymbal crash removed from the final edit of an album by Kinnie The Explorer, recorded by Bob Drake and "PaulStretched" to 28 minutes by Dan Wilson; b) Foley aircraft sounds from the film soundtrack; and c) dialogue from the film soundtrack, featuring David Niven (Peter) and Kim Hunter (June).

"Childhood Stories is an art project with sociological approach: it composes narrations of individuals about their childhood in order to create an authentic image of the social environment they grew up in. Therefore we gather material about childhood in a specific country by using a questionnaire. The answers are anonymized, translated and used as literary material, they are condensed or cut up, then arranged in a dramatic text - that's Regina's part. Christian composes the music using field recordings from the respective country. The result is an artistic documentary in form of an audio drama.

- radia_s33_n498 - Ethiopian Son (RadioWORM 2014-10-13)

A collaboration that was staged during the Poetry International festival between the Argentine poet Gambarotta and X Static Tics (also known under names like Worm Sound Crew and Dr. Klangendum). Originally played live it is an audio drama in which the text of Gambarotta almost forms a kind of score. It's said that at some point in the twentieth century, the great Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa published an essay with the title ‘My Son the Ethiopian'. It was dedicated with mocking irony to one of his teenage sons who, while studying at an expensive London private school, had converted to Rastafarianism. This is dedicated to all those who once were Ethiopian children.

In one of the two exhibit's rooms, the public can listen to a 4 surround channels sound track which illustrate ghostly extracts' pictures of these projects. Henry Landré's idea was to try to pursue the ghost's presence with slidings, frictions, crackles and other voices which tickle the ear... trying to define what could be this untouchable presence. For him, in a wider way, Radio are the Ghosts.

This piece attempts to revivify Marchetti's experience, using transcripts of the original television broadcasts. Ernesto Tomasini plays over-the-top quiz master Mike Bongiorno and the taciturn Walter Marchetti in this poorly recorded live performance of "Lascia o raddoppia?" at Raven Row, London, July 2011, by the Resonance Radio Orchestra. The fact that people are willing to put their lives in danger in order to preserve nothing more than the aesthetic qualities of their world typifies the form over function attitude prevalent in our society and is something which we felt was important to deal with. As Marjorie Hope Nicholson outlines in Mountain Gloom, Mountain Glory, the shift in mountain attitudes in writings of the English poets of the seventeenth, eighteenth, and nineteenth centuries came about due to advances in science and technology, Evil Earth explores the cognitive shift happening today. The basic question asked is how does our perception and understanding of nature, earth and our environment change under the influence of contemporary consumer modes of visualization and screen technologies?

- radia_s22_n256 - the nocturnal state of the city (Kanal 103 2010-02-22)

This piece of radia composition is made of lofi noises, crackles and subtle dubscapes which from the artists view depict the nocturnal state of the city. Inside the house where hums and noises from electronic appliances are generated and outside where distant sounds occupy space, reverbed voices from insomniacs, lovers and lonesome whistlers fill in the silence.

- radia_s23_n265 - two factories (Rádio Zero 2010-05-03)

"two factories" is produced by Carlos Santos and Paulo Raposo with Rádio Zero (PT) for Radia (EU). The program departs from field recordings made on two abandoned factories on the industrial outskirt of Lisbon. The collected sounds explore the empty space, the empty rooms and technological leftovers and debris of what once was breathing with life, people and machinery. the factories were central to the villages providing employment and subsistence to thousands of families. Now they are just a shadow, a strange body, waiting in decay for replacement and erasure. Besides the sounds, the program contains readings from the current legislation on unemployment as published on the portuguese labour laws, "diário da républica".

- radia_s30_n417 - CEREBRO (JET FM 2013-03-25)

Cerebro is the result of the meeting between Nathalie Blanc, geograph-poet and SemoNO!LinA/Amaury Bourget, musician. During 2008/09, they worked together and composed 3 pieces with the texts written and read by Nathalie Blanc. Acrobatic science fiction, this text tempts to cavort in limbo of a little bit atmospheric reflection, but which try to exhaust the detail of what is expressed here exactly, that is to say the future, our future... These pieces are written to be live played, what the duet will make in particular for the Poetry international biennial event in Val-de-Marne, in 2009. As suggested by JetFM, the project has been "updated" in a version which becomes trilingual (French, Portuguese, English) and accomodated musically.

- radia_s30_n427 - Crisis, what Crisis? (TEA FM 2013-06-03)

A work consisting of sounds from Chuse Fernandez, Fulvio d'Orazio, Juanjo Palacios, Miss Jenny Tails and Paco Rossique and Leonor Bruna's voice in German texts by Bertolt Brecht, Erich Kästner and an anonymous poem with info cuts from BBC news, NBC and La Sexta TV.

- radia_s37_n603 - Postcards from ISISTANBUL (Reboot.fm 2016-10-17)

New global power complexes demand new multi-sensory ways of seeing power and sensing one's own position in it: new sets of sensory politics. Following the concept of "altered states"—a geopolitics spectralized by sensory overload and dispossession and by the relocation of power in the post-democratic or post-digital era— the 2/5BZ works " SERHILDUB vs. ISISTANBUL " reconsider what is (or was) referred to as Sustainable ISISolation States, TISA-ISIStanbul Hologram Doctrines, Spywarezullah Harassment Agencies, Golden Age Palaverel Universes, Eurottoman and Nattoman Empire/Autonomie of Hardcore Ultra Modernism.
